Schneider Electric and initiate actions Amazonas Sustainable Foundation Partnership

AaSchneider Electric, global specialist in energy management and the Amazonas Sustainable Foundation (FAS), started this week, A survey of energy demands in 12 coastal communities on the banks of Rio Negro, in Amazonas. At the time, representatives of the FAS, Schneider Electric since e do SENAI – project partner – visit these communities with the aim of developing a diagnosis of the energy situation in isolated areas of the Amazon. This survey is one of the actions included in the partnership between the company and the Foundation to develop skills in communities belonging to the Conservation Units (CUs) State of the Amazon.

The preparation of this diagnosis is used as the basis for formatting travel agents electricity, one of the actions already agreed between Schneider Electric and FAS. This program will focus on training about 1.000 persons 572 communities served by the Bolsa Floresta program and to train them on best practices for use and safety of power generators Community.  

Another highlight is the "BipBop Program". The initiative aims to take the introductory course in basic electricity residential, project already underway in Brazil, residents of the Amazon protected areas (CUs) State of the Amazon.

"This work will be pilot to reach a 'ideal community’ helping to address a historical problem in riverine communities of Amazonas: the question of energy in isolated areas ", said the superintendent general of FAS, Virgilio Viana.

The work will involve the company's social, still, Group of volunteers, to participate in the promotion and marketing of handicrafts manufactured by riverine population of PAs where FAS works.
