Manaus will host, three days, the regional seminar on “Sustainable solutions for the eradication of poverty in the Amazon region”. The event is organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MRE), Ministry of Social Development and Fight against Hunger (MDS), Ministry of Environment (MMA), Ministry of Agrarian Development (MDA) and the permanent secretariat of the Amazon Cooperation Treaty Organization (OTCA) with support from the Amazon Regional Program (FOR) e Fundação Amazonas Sustentável (FAS).

The event will promote the exchange of experiences among countries to map convergences in policies implemented in the search for sustainable solutions to poverty eradication in the Amazon region.

Speakers include the superintendent of FAS, Virgilio Viana; Gary Stahl, UNICEF representative in Brazil; Airton ?Claudio at base, Secretary of State for Planning and Economic Development of the Government of Amazonas; Robby Ramlakhan, Secretary General of ACTO; Clemente Baena Soares, Director of the Department of South America II (MRE); Janine Mello dos Santos, Program director of the Special Secretariat for Overcoming Extreme Poverty (MDS); Ricardo Paes de Barros, Secretary of Strategic Actions of the Secretariat of Strategic Affairs of the Presidency (SAE / PR).

The seminar will have two days of lectures and rounds of discussions in the auditorium D.
