XVIII Meeting of Bolsa Floresta Leaders happens until Friday (26) in Manaus

Foi aberta na manhã desta segunda-feira (22) the eighteenth Leadership Meeting of the Bolsa Floresta. The event brings together until Friday (26) 40 Community leaders 16 Conservation Units (CUs) State to discuss progress and challenges for the conservation of standing forests, fruto de uma parceria entre Fundação Amazonas Sustentável (FAS), Government do Amazonas, Amazon Fund / BNDES and Banco Bradesco

Participants statutory director opening of FAS, Socorro Siqueira, the general superintendent of the FAS, Virgilio Viana, Vice President of the Foundation's board of directors, Neliton Brands, Assistant Secretary of environment, Luiz Andrade, and the head of the Secretariat of State for Youth, Esporte e Lazer (Sejel), Fabrício Lima.

Between 22 until 26 de maio, training will be promoted in accountability, indicators and preparation of projects for secretaries and treasurers of riparian associations, representatives of the beneficiaries of the Bolsa Floresta. In addition to these capabilities, participants will also have the opportunity to discuss public policies for the improvement of river life quality directly with representatives of the competent bodies, on issues such as energy, transportation and microcredit opportunities.

“The meeting of leaders is an opportunity to give voice to the community so that they can present to us, to society and to the government their demands. The eighteenth edition brings together agencies from different segments of the State, allowing leaders direct contact with service providers”, destacou o superintendente geral da FAS, Virgilio Viana.


Till Friday, the meeting will feature several lectures and four round tables, debating issues such as school transport, safety, sport, sustainable business and financial education.

On Tuesday, Community board for Saracá community, where they know the new structure of the Sustainable Communities Residents Association and the Rio Negro. Wednesday and Thursday, the Foundation will offer training focused on management indicators and rendering of accounts. Also on Thursday, there will be a debate with the associations on technical assistance and micro-credit opportunity. On Friday, the focus will be sustainable entrepreneurship and sustainable business. The meeting is open to the public.
