Dialogues on challenges to sustainable development in the Amazon are held in Brazilian federal capital

The Amazonas Sustainable Foundation (FAS) and the Inter-American Development Bank (BID) promote dialogue series "Challenges for Development: Sustainable Amazon "what happened, at different times, in Brasilia, Sao Paulo and Belem and with the participation of the main actors, técnicos, experts and opinion makers entered in the Amazon development context.

The purpose of the occasion was to collect opinions and generate knowledge on the topics under discussion that will serve as inputs in the construction of a report to be prepared by the Amazonas Sustainable Foundation (FAS).

“The series of dialogues provides an important reflection, collecting different perspectives on the implementation of the agenda 2030 Amazon and sustainable development in the region”, says the manager of FAS Innovative Solutions Program, Carlos Aragon.

In addition to strengthening the dialogue towards the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDSN) Amazon, the report will contribute to the identification, IDB, of the main challenges for development, as, later, the preparation of the "Strategy Country" with Brazil over the next four years.

On each occasion there was a different theme guided. On June 2 April, in Brasilia, the theme of the dialogue was on integrated management and regional cooperation for sustainable development of the Amazon ". On June 3 April, in Sao Paulo, the discussion was focused on financing for sustainable development in the Amazon. In Belem, on 9 April, models and integrated development methodologies in the Amazon have been discussed in the dialogue.
